Hopefully, you are ready for the long awaited part 2, because this is where you’ll learn exactly how to make the PERFECT hook.
And of course the hook is not just for written content.
The hook is the first few sentences of a video, the headline of your website, cover photo of a social media post, ect.
The first magical ingredient is to reframe the hook to be about them.
Everyone’s favorite topic is any topic about them.
Example, Don’t say: I made the best pizza ever
Say: How YOU can make the best pizza ever
OR
Let’s say you want someone to read your 5 personality mistakes pamphlet.
Don’t say: 5 personality mistakes!
Say: Do YOU have these 5 personality mistakes?
This one small change makes it 10X more likely to peak their interest.
That is all about reframing the hook to be about them.
Here, you should choose one of these.
- Do you know what I love about myself?
- Hey, guess what I love about you!
What would you rather hear from somebody?
Exactly, that’s why it needs to be about them; they don’t care about others, they care about themselves.
And that is the power of YOU.
We’ll leave it at this one tip for today,
so let that marinate until tomorrow for tip 2 which will be about the second factor for making a killer hook, it’s also where I’ll give you the list of questions I ask myself when crafting a hook.
