What You Should Be Doing When Business Is Slow
Feels like sales are randomly slowing down again, but you just don’t know what to do about it.
Ever wondered what you should be doing in these times? Well, you’re not alone.
What most people do is,
with no delay, is jump to blame the weather, the market, their dog, you name it.Â
And maybe those things ARE part of the problem.
But Iâm here to talk about:
What You Should Do When Sales Are Slow
It all comes down to one simple question. It works for all businesses, in all industries.
It is:
âWhat worked in the past?â
We ask this because, for some strange reason, people ditch what was working for something âshinierâ and ânewer.â
And when it inevitably fails (because it always does), they tell themselves. âOh, I am just not doing it right. You know, it takes time.â
Then, they waste months âteachingâ an elephant to climb trees (here’s why that happens to us and how to stop it).
So, ask yourself this question, then go back to what works.
But donât just guess; do a real audit of what strategies you were using with your business at its peak.
Go back to the logs; I am sure you have them.
Look at when your business was growing fastest.
What strategies were you using?
How were you getting clients?
How were your systems different?
What marketing channels brought in your best clients?
What made them stay longest?
And that is how you get to the bottom of slowing sales and what you should do about it. You ask yourself, âWhen was I at my best?â Then pick up whatever you dropped.
When you do, youâll see the number slowly, but steadily claw its way back up.
